This leather belt is a hand sewn and hand dyed reproduction of an 18th century British powder horn belt, using a one inch iron buckle, with a seven-eighths wide belt for easier better fitting and brass open rings. The belt can either be purchased in black, English bridle or dark brown dyed using oil dye or can be purchased in natural which has been hand treated with natural oils and finished with a period wax finish, made using veg-tanned leather, hand sewn with three cord waxed linen thread. This belt is an exact reproduction, inclusive of the exact stitching used, of the waist belt held in the collection of the Canadian War Museum, as well as several other surviving examples from the American Revolution, modified on the basis of existing powder horn belt images. This belt is also suitable for the securing of your ball or shot bag, also available on this website.

Though based on the 1770s version of this specific piece, this belt is suitable for other engagements and reenacting events, as the belt matches the item used for several conflicts, being produced to the highest quality and authenticity standards possible. The belt is cut to your length, please send your measurement from your should, around your torso and back to the starting point on your shoulder in the comments when checking out. Please note that the brass loops are included, but the powder horn is not included.
