Based upon images of the remaining extant copy, as well as images from the various Philip Loutherbourg paintings and sketches, this 9 round cartridge box, or block is an exact reproduction down to the smallest detail of the surviving example. This item includes period details such as a correct "button", curvature, proper strap placement, lack of cypher (the originals appear to have no cypher upon them) and a proper hole depth and style matching that of the originals and permitting the use of live ball, where so desired.

This item is also available with GR3 cypher upon inquiry, but is not recommended. The wood for this block has been hand shaped and finished with a black linseed oil paint, as well as a wax coating which has been buffed, to provide the item with as close an appearance as possible to the remaining originals and making use of nothing but period materials and finishes. This specific cartridge box is appropriate for both the American Revolution, as well as the 7 Years War / French and Indian War, as well as various other portrayals. This specific item can be found on images of British Light Infantrymen of the period, carried across the back, though this item is also suitable for militiamen and for being worn across the back, or the belly.

For better or for worse; the front straps can potentially come off, as there is no guarantee that this will not happen at some point, all originals seem to have this same issue and repair is possible with little work. Please also note that this item DOES NOT INCLUDE A BELT by default, though you CAN select the appropriate belt for purchase within this shop.

This item is made to order and will be ready in less than four to five weeks (usually sooner) from the order date.

All items are sold as is and are produced on a per order basis; each work is a custom piece and reproduced (where applicable) by hand and using period materials as close as possible to the original materials used in the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. All items may be subject to a delay and currently each item will require one to two weeks to produce and ship from our workshop, unless otherwise noted.
