Spott'd Handkerchief Tutorial - Part 1

I thought this would be an interesting technique to share with you since it doesn't seem that there are many people who know how to make these handkerchiefs (and the spots themselves). I will break it up into three sections. First will be the extant examples and material list, next will be the patterns (of which I created three that you can download and use to make your own handkerchief), and lastly I will share a video of how to create the spots on the cloth. I hope you enjoy this tutorial and if you do make your own handkerchief, I'd love to see the results!

You can find the extant examples HERE and the materials list HERE.

  • I’ve done this many years ago but no bead is needed. A tie is sufficient to make the small spots that tend to be more square in shape with a dot in the center.
