We are quite pleased to offer you this reproduction 18th century men's removable hair queue, currently available in blonde human hair with a 16" length and blue silk ribbon (the last photos show some of the other colours available in the shop). Queues such as these, noted in Diderot, were used by men who for whatever reason may have had shorter hair, or baldness and were required by social standards to have a proper length of hair and braided in some fashion. This is not a synthetic, but rather real human hair and pure silk, with cotton ties.
This item may have the ties removed and permanently attached to a hat, or cap of some sort, or tied around the head and kept beneath a hat. This is a period correct item and manner of wearing your hair, in place of a full men's wig.
We offer this item with different colour silks, colours of hair and lengths, upon request.
At present, the queue is styled in a braided fashion and has been styled using our own secret pomatum lavender blend and may be restyled as needed. Repeated use will eventually require the queue to be re-braided routinely. This queue may also be clubbed, turned up, or made into any number of period styles.
This item is made to order and will be ready in less than two to three weeks (usually sooner) from the order date.
All items are sold as is and are produced on a per order basis; each work is a custom piece and reproduced (where applicable) by hand and using period materials as close as possible to the original materials used in the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. All items may be subject to a delay and currently each item will require one to two weeks to produce and ship from our workshop, unless otherwise noted.
