18th Century Carved Leather Naval Buttons

I am pleased to offer you a set of ten (10) leather 3/4" (three quarter inch) buttons, hand carved from thick leather and identical in shape and design when compared to numerous extant examples. These buttons were quite commonly found on 18th and early 19th century naval garments, such as men's waistcoats and potentially jackets as well. The buttons have been found, still attached, to mid to late 18th century waistcoats and have survived in the harshest of climates, a testament to their durability.

The buttons shown here are direct reproductions of the buttons in the possession of Fort Ticonderoga, among other existing examples. The images that you will find within this listing, of the extant buttons, were taken by myself at Fort Ticonderoga, of the buttons currently on display. Though the buttons are listed in sets of ten, other specific amounts and potentially different sizes are available upon request.

This item is made to order and will be ready in less than one to two weeks (usually sooner) from the order date.

All items are sold as is and are produced on a per order basis; each work is a custom piece and reproduced (where applicable) by hand and using period materials as close as possible to the original materials used in the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. All items may be subject to a delay and currently each item will require one to two weeks to produce and ship from our workshop, unless otherwise noted.
