I am quite pleased to offer you this rather interesting piece of literature from the 18th century, entitled "An Account of Remarkable Cure, Performed by the Use of Maredant's Antiscorbutic Drops", dating to 1772. This unique text discusses the use and "benefits" as they were seen at the time, of Maredant's drops an 18th century medicine documented as being in use not only by the British within places such as London, but also as far off as the colonies and the Province of Quebec, during the American Revolution.
Rather interestingly, these "wonder pills", as discussed in this period pamphlet, were also documented as being used by the 8th Regiment of Foot, during the War within the Northern Theatre!
