Dating to 1758, this reproduction of the "New Manual Exercise as Performed by His Majesty's Dragoons, Foot-Guards, Foot, Artillery, Marines, and by the Militia", is an incredible example of 18th century military drill and management, both in terms of the view that it gives us of the operation of the British military in the mid-18th century, but also the details provided on the manual of arms for the soldiers of the era with a selection of detailed period plates. An incredible resource for historians of the 7 Years War, as well as the North American theatre, the French and Indian War, this piece of material helped formed the basis of mid-18th century British military drill for various Regiments and militia groups, spreading later into the period for American militias in the earlier portion of the Revolution. A wonderful resource for historians, reenactors and those with an interest in military history, this text is highly recommended.
