Entitled "The History and Lives Of all the most Notorious Pirates and Their Crews", this is quite a book, reproduced on linen paper and with linen binding, it is possibly one of my husband's favourites. This text, produced originally in 1729, discusses the history of piracy in the late 17th century to the early 18th century, including such nefarious characters as Henry Avery and Edward Teach/Thatch, also known as "Blackbeard".

This book is highly unique as it tells these tales of these pirates' lives from the perspective of people who lived during their lifetimes. Further and even more interesting, this text also includes relevant legislation against acts of piracy during the era. Finally, the book is also quite unique, as this includes several plates dating rather closely to the lifetime of the pirates themselves, meaning, this is probably as close as you can get to period correct images of piracy in the era!

This item is made to order and will be ready in less than one to two weeks (usually sooner) from the order date.

This wonderfully reproduced book comes to you on period laid linen paper, hand bound with linen thread, suitable for collectors, historians and those with a passion for classic literature and antique books. As with all books of this nature, we must note that there are numerous imperfections, as noted below, reflecting the character of the original printing. Owing to the extreme age of the original text and the nature of the original printing, there are some blemishes that are beyond correction without destroying the original content and character of the book. That noted, the book is extremely high quality in terms of its reproduced nature and the blemishes do not detract from the work, or reduce its ability to be read; basically what you are getting is a complete reproduction of the original. Please note that all documents and source material are free of copyright claims and are strictly based on such material. All documents may suffer from blemishes, textual issues, pictorial degradation and associated imagery issues as may be the case, as the documents are exact reproductions of the original source material and accordingly, contain all original blemishes and imperfections, both as a matter of necessity and in some cases, to preserve the original appearance and nature of the documents as they would have been produced and sold. We hold no claim over exclusive intellectual property rights over the associated material, herein and rely upon the Berne Convention and associated international agreements for free use of said material. Further, please note that certain images may have the addition of a border, or areas that include a background, as the original images may be too degraded to remove this effect and must be reproduced with such appearances as to permit the preservation and distribution of these valuable and historic texts. All document are sold as is and are produced on a per order basis; each work is a custom piece and reproduced by hand and using period materials as closes as possible to the original materials used in the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries.
