This leather belt is a hand sewn and hand dyed reproduction of an 18th century British "belly box" cartridge box belt as well as several other period items, using a one inch iron buckle, with a seven-eighths wide belt for easier better fitting. The belt can either be purchased in black, dark brown, English bridle dyed using oil dye or can be purchased in natural which has been hand treated with natural oils and finished with a period was finish, made using veg-tanned leather, hand sewn with three cord waxed linen thread. This belt is an exact reproduction, inclusive of the exact stitching used, of the belt held in the collection of the Canadian War Museum, as well as several other surviving examples from the American Revolution. This belt is also suitable for the securing of other equipment, such as out nine round cartridge block, as well as our seven round block, hatchet carriages and other such equipment.

Though based on the 1770s version of this specific piece, this belt is suitable for Seven Years War / French and Indian War living history and reenacting events, as the belt matches the item for that period, being produced to the highest quality and authenticity standards possible. The belt is cut to lengths varying from 45-52", please inquire should you wish to purchase a specific length, greater or shorter than this, or should you wish to have holes punched for you at no additional cost; should you not request that holes be punched, the belt will come with no holes. The leather for the belt itself is also cut just short of 1", as to permit it to fit properly into the 1" iron buckle, without any resistance, or folding.
