Not for those with an aversion to the titillating aspects of the 18th century, this hand bound and historically accurate reproduction of the "New Covent-Garden Register" offers us a glimpse of the more steamy and sexual side of Georgian society.

While most similar works merely list off women and their talents, as well as prices, this work goes into detail with numerous tales and myths about the Covent-Garden area and the women who worked both its brothels and streets during the 18th century. In fact, this work may be a piece of fiction, or may be based on at least a series of known women, a mixture of fact and fiction providing the reader with a rather shocking and uncompromising of what life was like for many women in the 18th century and those who had to make a living working as ladies of the evening. This text is a wonderful piece of literature, as well as an excellent source of information for researchers and living historians. Given its content, this work is not suitable for children, though it would be an excellent addition to the literature of any living historian or reenactor, military and civilian alike.
