One of the most well known historical children's books, "The Cries of London, for the Instruction and Amusement of Good Children" is an excellent source for both period research on various merchants and professions that would have been found in 18th century London, as well as an educational tool from the period. This text uses both images and descriptions to teach literacy to children of the period, making it a great tool to use at events, for 18th and 19th century living historians, as well as children of all ages. Its ability to also be used as an example of period civilian life makes it a wonderful addition to an adult's collection, as well.
